Characterisation of gene expression changes in T cells from patients presenting with AML compared with healthy T cells
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 39 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

Work previously published by our group has demonstrated that T cells from patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) show differentially regulated genes compared with healthy T cells. This study was initiated to examine if these gene expression changes were unique to CLL T cells or common to an alternative leukaemia, acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Publication Title

Peripheral blood T cells in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients at diagnosis have abnormal phenotype and genotype and form defective immune synapses with AML blasts.

Key differences identified between actinic keratosis and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma by transcriptome profiling
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 38 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is one of the most common malignancies in fair skinned populations worldwide and its incidence is increasing. Despite previous observations of multiple genetic abnormalities in cSCC, the oncogenic process remains elusive. The purpose of this study was to investigate the transcriptomes of cSCC and actinic keratoses (AK), to elucidate key differences between precursor AK lesions and invasive carcinoma.

Publication Title

Key differences identified between actinic keratosis and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma by transcriptome profiling.

Analysis of the impact of the method of cell selection on the gene expression profile of human CD4 and CD8 T cells
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 17 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

Negative immunomagnetic selection has become the method of choice for isolating T cell subsets for functional studies due to concerns that directly binding antibody to the surface of a cell, as occurs with positive selection, results in cross-linking of surface antigens, altered gene transcription and subsequent cellular activation. However there is little data to support this. We therefore examined the impact of the method of immunomagnetic cell selection on the gene expression profile of healthy human CD4 and CD8 T cells in a total of 21 cases.

Gene microarray of sorted Vg9Vd2 subsets
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 10 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina HumanHT-12 V4.0 expression beadchip

Description

Analysis of gene expression at RNA level by 4 different cell sorted Vg9Vd2 subsets (Subset 1=CD28+CD27+, Subset2=CD28-CD27+, Subset 3=CD28-CD7-CD16-, Subset 4 = CD28-CD27-CD16+). Results highlight differences in RNA expression characterising these four cell populations into distinct phenotypic subsets with distinct functional potential

Publication Title

Heterogeneous yet stable Vδ2(+) T-cell profiles define distinct cytotoxic effector potentials in healthy human individuals.

  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

The development of chemo-resistance has dramatically limited the clinical efficiency of platinum-based therapy. Although many resistant mechanisms have been demonstrated, genetic/molecular alterations responsible for drug resistance in the majority of clinical cases has not been identified.

Genome-wide analysis of gonadotropin-dependent gene expression and crosstalk of the regulatory pathways in the female ovaries
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 17 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina MouseWG-6 v2.0 expression beadchip

Description

Effects of lack of functional LH receptor and/or a constitutively active FSH receptor on gene expression in the ovaries of female mice were studied. The results suggest that transgenic expression of the mouse Fshr in granulosa cells leads to abnormal ovarian structure/function and infertility. This finding indicates that gain-of-function mutations of the Fshr in female mice bring about distinct and clear changes in ovarian function.

  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Exon 1.0 ST Array [transcript (gene) version (huex10st)

Description

Alternative splicing is a key event to human transcriptome and proteome diversity and complexity. Recent evidence suggests that pancreatic cancer might possess particular patterns of splice variation that influence the function of individual genes contributing to tumour progression in this disease. The identification of new pancreatic cancer-associated splice variants would offer opportunities for novel diagnostics and potentially also represent novel therapeutic targets.
